How to Measure Your Rug and Estimate the Price
All you need is a tape measure and about two minutes. An accurate measurement keeps the photo quote close to the real job and helps the technician bring the right equipment for your rug.
Step 1: Measure the Length and Width
- Lay the rug flat and pull the corners out so there are no folds.
- Measure the long side and the short side of the rug body, edge to edge.
- If the rug has fringe at the ends, note the fringe length separately in your message.
- Round to the nearest 0.1 m and multiply length × width to get the area in m².
Step 2: Compare the Area With the Price List
Your rug probably won't match a size in the list exactly. The quick way to estimate is to compare your area with the Area column. For example, a 1.5 × 2.1 m rug is 3.15 m², which sits between the 2.8 m² price (350,000 VND) and the 3.68 m² price (400,000 VND). Thuan High Clean will confirm the exact figure once we see your measurements and photos.
Measuring Round or Irregular Rugs
For a round rug, measure the diameter straight through the center. The area is roughly 0.785 × diameter × diameter, so a rug 2 m across is about 3.14 m². For an oval or unusually shaped rug, measure the longest length and widest width, and send a photo taken from above.
What to Send When You Ask for a Quote

What Can Make Your Quote Differ From the List
The list is based on size, but two rugs of the same size can need very different amounts of work. That's why Thuan High Clean asks for photos before quoting, not just measurements.
Shag and Long-Pile Rugs
Long fibers trap hair, pet fur and dust deep down, so they take more vacuuming and need the pile groomed after cleaning. Shag rugs also take longer to dry.
Wool and Natural-Fiber Rugs
Wool and other natural fibers are soft but can shrink or bleed if they get too wet. The technician uses a gentler solution, less water and more careful color testing, so the job usually takes longer than a synthetic rug of the same size. If the label says wool or the rug is hand-woven, let us know when you book.
Pet Urine and Vomit
Urine soaks through the fibers into the backing, so each affected area has to be treated on its own and deodorized thoroughly. We'll often suggest the hot steam add-on. Fresh accidents are easier than stains that have dried for weeks; old odors can usually be reduced a lot, but not always removed completely.
Heavily Soiled, Moldy or Never-Cleaned Rugs
Rugs that have sat in a hallway or under a dining table for years often have heavy soil and layers of food stains.
